Common Threads started in 2026 as an outgrowth of The Feast Church reaching the West End, Elmwood, and Upper South neighborhoods of Providence. With their sponsorship and initial funding, the dream was simply to discover a way we could use the funds to serve those in our community. The result of those efforts is a 24 ft. trailer with six commercial-grade washers and dryers and the ability to travel as needed and able to expand our assistance.

We are incorporated as a non-profit in the state of Rhode Island and in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) status.

Our most immediate goal is to further finance our existing structure including transportation, fuel, and hopefully a generator to be fully mobile.

Longer term, we hope to expand the laundry operation, while also focusing on soft good distribution (socks, clothing, diapers, blankets, etc.) which is a continual need overwhelming the supply in local shelters and pantries especially during the winter months.
